Mr O. #20: S/S 12 Must-Have: Khaki Parka

My best buy of 2012 so far? It's got to be my beloved khaki military parka! I bought in Paris during one of my vintage shopping trips dans Les Marais, the trendy district of La Ville Lumière.
In Paris buying vintage (called "fripes") is ridiculously cheap compared to London, perhaps due to the fact that Parisians are so chic that they prefer designer stuff so they don't really bother getting their hands dirty rummaging through second hand clothes? I dont' know, I am just guessing... but sure is that I do like spending hours in finding the ultimate fashion bargains!
My favourite shop is Free'P'Star, a Parisian institution in matter of vintage, with prices from as little as 1 Euro! Can you believe it? Obviously you must be provided with a good eye and a lot of patience as the shop is very narrow and always crowded in clothes and people. But, hey, it is totally worth it! Denim Levi's shirts, military jackets, leather jackets, 60's-70's-80's dresses all for €10!

And my parka... Ah it is SO cool! It is waterproof (perfect for London's rainy weather!) and it looks great worn with a vintage T-shirt (I have a customised Nike one which is perfect), highwaisted jeans and heels for a very relaxed yet cool urban look. The khaki colour is very flattering and I love it combined to blue denim and grey fleece.

Plus it is perfectly in line with the Utility trend seen on the catwalks of the S/S12 collections!

These are some parkas from various brands in case you are looking for one (if you are not, YOU SHOULD!)
